Shannon tourism plan welcomed

THE Shannon Airport Authority has welcomed the announcement of an Economic & Tourism Development Plan for the airport’s catchment area.

The plan, which will result in an anticipated €15m-€20m over the next few years, will be implemented by tourism interests in the region.

Airport authority chairman Pat Shanahan said: “Shannon Airport Authority welcomes the government commitment to invest in a major tourism marketing strategy to stimulate tourism traffic into the west of Ireland through Shannon in the post-Open Skies environment.”
