Market down despite early rally

THE ISEQ index closed lower yesterday despite an early morning rally. Negative newsflow on Ryanair contributed to a fall in the exchange, down 52.99 at close to 6,760.71.

In the financials, AIB added 23c to €15.98 while Bank of Ireland tacked on 9c to €10.07. Anglo Irish slipped 13c to €9.88 with Irish Life & Permanent also lower, down 23c to €10.97.

Construction giant CRH added 3c to €25.60 while Kingspan dropped 46c to €10.02 and Grafton lost 13c to €5.20.
