Market builds on gains

THE Irish market followed Friday’s positive performance with a second consecutive day of gains.

Yesterday saw the ISEQ index improve 67.62 to 6,728.46 on the back of healthy increases from the principal financial stocks.

AIB jumped 18c to €15.15 and Bank of Ireland rose 34c to €9.96. Anglo Irish rose 14.3c to €9.88, while Irish Life and Permanent shed 8c to close at €10.42.
