THE Irish exchange yesterday improved marginally by 29.31 points to 6,889.14.

The banks led the mini revival but the index was held back by a decline in the share price of construction heavyweight CRH.

AIB rose 14c to €15.29. Bank of Ireland improved 23c to €10.48. Anglo Irish Bank dropped 22.3c to €10.273 while Irish Life and Permanent lost ground, closing down 7.6c at €11.354.
