Digicel gets British Virgin phone licence

DENIS O’Brien's international mobile telephony network operator, Digicel, has been granted a licence to operate a mobile network in the British Virgin Islands.

This will become Digicel's 24th market and the company — which mainly operates in the Caribbean and Central America — has said it will initially invest $15m in building its network.
