THE ISEQ Index continued to lose ground yesterday as fears resurfaced about the extent of the subprime crisis in the US.

The Irish market fell 130.22 to 7,615.54.

The banking sector was in the front line yet again, with AIB shedding 35c to €16.35 and Bank of Ireland dipping 33c to €11.82. Anglo Irish closed 15c down at €11.13 and Irish Life & Permanent slipped 84c to €14.08.
