Financials boost for market

THE ISEQ Index closed higher yesterday thanks to a strong performance from the financials. The Irish market added 76.03 to rest at 7,911.12.

In the banking sector, Bank of Ireland charged ahead, up 47c at €12.74 while AIB gained 25c to close at €17.24.

Anglo Irish tacked on 2c crossing the line at €11.60 and Irish Life & Permanent strengthened by 16c to €15.65.
