Financials gain but market slips

THE IRISH market returned to red yesterday despite the financial sector having a slightly positive result.

The ISEQ index shed 32.34 to rest at 7,835.09.

The financials had mixed results with AIB up 16.8 to €16.99. However, Bank of Ireland dropped 5c to €12.27. Anglo-Irish jumped 11c to €11.58. Irish Life andPermanent weakened 19.5c to €15.48.
