ANOTHER day of significant losses for the banking stocks has forced the Irish market lower.

The ISEQ index closed down 162.25 points yesterday to finish the week at 8,020.51.

The financial sector was the principal laggard on the overall market. AIB and Bank of Ireland were down 53c and 37c to €17.15 and €12.75. Anglo-Irish followed the downward trend losing 27c to €12.90. Irish Life and Permanent were also in the red, down 58.3c to €16.08.
