Input of Irish companies needed

Speaking at the Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ annual Practitioners’ Conference in Kilkenny, Dr Courtney said the 2008 bill will be the most radical and most important change to company law legislation since the 1963 Companies Act.

Dr Courtney said that the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Micheál Martin TD, was taking a personal interest in the drafting of the new bill and hoped to be in a position to steer it through the houses of the Oireachtas at the earliest possible opportunity.
