Walsh to head wind association

THE Irish Wind Energy Association has appointed Dr Michael Walsh as its new chief executive. He will formally take over the role in November.

A native of Newbridge, Co Kildare, Dr Walsh is a key figure in the all-island single electricity market.

He is currently EirGrid’s manager of market development for the single electricity market. He previously worked on the transition of the Irish electricity market to the current open access model.
