Tullamore Show postponed to 2008

THE executive committee of Tullamore Show, cancelled last Sunday due to site flooding, has announced that it will not be feasible to reschedule the event this year.

The next show will be on Sunday, August 10, 2008. It said it had no alternative but to call off last Sunday’s show in the interest of safety even though it had a wet day plan which included 200 tons of chippings/gravel, 120 large round bales of straw and towing equipment.

It said cancellation of the show, which incorporates the AIB national livestock show, will have major financial implications but it was heartened by many sponsors and exhibitors who pledged to donate their sponsorship to the event. Some even donated their entry fees.
