Profits at Mosney fall to €800,000

The site is owned by Louth-based businessman Phelim McCloskey and his wife Elizabeth and they have operated the former Butlins holiday village on behalf of the Department of Justice since 2000. The original contract was in place for five years but it has been extended and the number of asylum seekers staying there has increased to 800.

The profit for the year is down nearly €200,000 on the previous year.
