Spam email levels decline by 5%
The reprieve is not thought to last long, however, as the seasonal drop is in line with previous years.
“Every year we have seen a decrease in spam during the summer months since we first started tracking spam back in 2003,” said Phelim O’Connell, managing director with IE Internet.
“The slight drop in the summer will probably not be noticed by most email users,” he added.
The majority of spam in July came from the United States and France, responsible for 30% and 25% respectively.
