Another bleak day for the market saw the ISEQ losing further ground as the financial stocks continued to drag the index lower.

The Irish exchange closed 12.53 lower at 9,014.78.

In the banking sector Bank of Ireland was the leading casualty dropping 23c to €14.70. AIB eased back 3c to €20.02, Anglo-Irish shed 10c to €14.45 while Irish Life & Permanent bucked the trend, climbing 45c to €18.95.
