Blending requirements to increase

GERMAN regulators plan to increase biofuel blending requirements to add more crop-based fuel to gasoline and diesel.

Blending requirements to increase

Germany’s environment and agriculture ministers agreed to boost the blending requirement to 10% from 5%, the German Agricultural Ministry said in a statement recently. The ministers agreed on the outline of the plans at a meeting with representatives of the automotive industry, the oil industry, farmers and biofuel producers.

Automobile manufacturers indicated they would be willing to prepare engines to burn the blended fuel. The ministry didn’t say when it expected the new requirements to take effect.
