Vacancies reported at firms drop by 5%

THE number of private sector firms reporting vacancies dropped by five percentage points over the last year.

The drop from 17% to 12% is recorded in the latest FÁS/ESRI employment vacancies survey, which also said that all construction employers with vacancies in June said they were experiencing difficulty filling their positions.

The survey said that reported vacancies in the construction sector increased by two percentage points from May to 8% last month.
