The exchange fell 148.8 to 9,284.17.
The financial sector was the major drag falling 278.32. AIB shed 41c to €20.39 while Bank of Ireland shipped 10c to €14.92. Anglo Irish lost 43c to €14.42 and Irish Life & Permanent dropped 72c to €18.20.
