IRELAND’S company law system is to be dramatically streamlined in the hope that it will improve the country’s position as a location for business investment.

The 13 existing companies acts, as well as numerous statutory instruments dating back more than 40 years, will be consolidated into one single company law bill.

The goal of the new bill is “to make it simpler to set up and run a company”, said Enterprise Minister Micheál Martin, whose department will draft the document.
