Construction stocks boost market

THE ISEQ Index closed ahead yesterday on the back of strong performances in the construction sector.

The Irish exchange gained 68.99 to rest at 9,665.25.

A mixed session for the financials saw AIB add 12c to €21.77 but Bank of Ireland shed 2c to €15.93 despite announcing the sale and leaseback of 30 branches. Anglo Irish fell 7c to €15.93 while Irish Life & Permanent moved 8c ahead to €19.28.
