Industrial production up by 6.2%

Industrial production up by 6.2%

Figures published yesterday by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) showed that industrial production rose by 6.2% — year-on-year — in April.

The modern sector — which includes the hi-tech and pharmaceutical/chemical areas — saw an annual rise of 7.3%, while there was a 2.9% rise in the traditional sector. Total industrial output was up by 12.2% in the first four months of the year.
