Kerry ups milk price to dairy farmers

KERRY Group confirmed yesterday that its supplier milk price payment will increase by a further 6.8 cent/gallon (1.5c/litre) to 134.1c/gallon (29.5c/litre) for deliveries from May 1.

This brings the cumulative Kerry milk price increase in 2007 to 17.8c/gallon (3.9c/litre). The group said conditions across international dairy markets have strengthened in recent weeks.

Last week, Glanbia announced an increase in the price it pays its farmer suppliers for milk — an additional 6.31cpg (vat inclusive) on top of the 2.1cpg already announced for May, giving a total price increase for May and June milk of 8.42cpg (1.85cpl) VAT inclusive.
