‘Remember to root out weed problem’

OWNERS and occupiers of land, including local authorities, developers and farmers, have been reminded of their responsibility under the law to control the spread of noxious weeds.

‘Remember to root out weed problem’

The principal weeds which must be controlled under the Noxious Weeds Act are ragwort, thistle, dock and wild oat.

Ragwort is poisonous to animals when grazed or consumed in hay or silage.
