Long-term lending limits extended

Finance Minister Brian Cowen has signed regulations extending long-term lending limits for credit unions under Section 35 of the Credit Union Act of 1997.

The new regulations will allow for the increase in longer-term lending limits for loans over five years from 20% to 40% and from 10% to 15% on loans over 10 years.
