EMPLOYMENT numbers in Irish manufacturing companies fell slightly in March, the first time they have dipped in the last year.

However, product output continued to expand strongly.

The latest monthly NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) for the manufacturing sector, which was published yesterday, showed output increased for the 43rd consecutive month.
