Banking boosts resurgent market

THE ISEQ Index regained some of the ground lost after the previous four days declines on the back of strong performances from the banking and construction sectors.

The Dublin market jumped 140.99 to 9,410.63.

In the financials, AIB climbed 43c to €22.25 while Bank of Ireland added 36c to €16.25. Anglo Irish also gained on the day, up 17c to €16.12 and Irish Life & Permanent soared 60c to €20.25.
