THE ISEQ Index finished ahead for the second day in a row mirroring gains across European bourses.

The exchange closed 120.36 higher at 9,305.58.

The banks again provided the basis for the surge with AIB climbing 43c to €22.28 and Bank of Ireland adding 27c to €17.00. Anglo Irish also recorded steady gains, up 14c to €15.41.
