Market continues to negative territory

THE ISEQ Index continued to slide yesterday, as other equity markets worldwide. At the closing bell the Dublin exchange was 18.49 lighter at 9,256.09.

Financial stocks were relatively flat. Bank of Ireland was the leading riser climbing 35c to €17.05 while AIB showed more modest gains, nudging upwards by 4c to €21.69. Meanwhile, Anglo-Irish shed 35c to €15.40 with Irish Life & Permanent losing 34c to €20.66.

C&C shares tumbled 49c to €10.05 with over 8.6 million shares changing hands. Independent News & Media dropped 11c to €3.15, while Ryanair gave up 8c to €5.65. On the plus side Kerry Group jumped 36c to €20.50.
