Potato growers to get more grants

GRANT aid supporting capital investments is being provided for potato growers under the new National Development Plan (NDP).

Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan said the last NDP scheme (2000-2006) provided grant support of some €12 million involving investments of over €30m.

It had been a catalyst for continuing modernisation of the potato sector at grower, packer and processor level.
