3 cover 85% of population

MOBILE provider 3 announced yesterday its 3G network now covers 85% of the population, meeting its regulatory coverage requirement set by ComReg one year early.

The mobile provider also said its network has broadband speeds of up to 3.6 Mb per second.

3’s managing director Robert Finnegan said: “Some of the old networks have paid lip-service to new technologies, keeping customers on 2G to protect their old revenue streams. 3 is fully committed to offering the best technology available to its customers, at the best value.”
