Dairygold to pay premium milk bonus

DAIRYGOLD Co-op announced yesterday that it is to pay a bonus of up to 2.35 cent plus VAT per gallon on each month’s milk for 2006 which achieved premium grade.

It said the decision was made against the backdrop of a difficult and expensive year for milk production, mainly weather-related.

The overall payment will average 2c plus VAT per gallon on milk supplied in 2006. In addition, it will pay a bonus €4/tonne of “green” barley-wheat supplied in 2006 harvest.
