Saudis to inspect Irish animal safety

A VISIT is being arranged for Saudi Arabian experts to come here to inspect safety and animal controls here, with a view to the kingdom re-opening its market to Irish beef.

It follows a recent trade mission to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.

Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan, who was part of the mission, met with the Saudi agriculture and commerce ministers.
