Market down as oil recovers ground

The ISEQ Index closed down yesterday as the price of oil regained some ground lost recently. The closing figure was down 49.56 to 9,332.86.

The financial sector was a mixed bag as AIB added 5c to €22.40 and Bank of Ireland gained 10c to €17.45. Anglo Irish slipped 21c to €15.70 and Irish Life & Permanent lost 18c to close at €21.20.

In construction, CRH shed 25c to €30.40 on the back of negative newsflow on the US housing market while McInerney said the group had a strong year seeing the stock add 1c to its share value to €15.91. Grafton moved 4c ahead to €12.19 and Kingspan slipped 22c to €19.78.
