No extension for applications

THE Department of Agriculture and Food confirmed yesterday there was no extension for the receipt of applications under the Farm Waste Management Scheme.

It said that in order to conform to the requirements of the scheme, applications had to be submitted by December 31, 2006.

“To cope with the large influx of applications made in the final weeks, the department agreed that applications from farmers who had submitted proposals to Teagasc or to private planners prior to this deadline would be accepted for consideration.
