13% of firms report job vacancies

A FÁS/ESRI employment and vacancies survey from December showed economy-wide vacancies remained stable with 13% of firms reporting vacancies across all sectors.

The survey showed the most frequently reported difficult-to-fill vacancies in construction quality surveyors and electrical estimators.

In industry, managers, sales staff, and engineers were hardest to fill while in retail it was sales personnel.
