Slow financials weigh on market

THE Irish market finished in the red yesterday, shedding some of the gains made earlier in the week. The financials weighed heavily as the ISEQ index lost 31.59 to 9,394.48.

AIB and Anglo-Irish saw their share price drop, down 20c to €22.80, and 20c to €15.40.

The construction sector was weak also as all three principal’s gave back some of the recent gains. CRH lost 29c to €30.75, while Kingspan dropped 25c to €19.95. Grafton slipped back 20c to €12.20.
