IRISH shoppers regard health and nutrition, ahead of price, as the most important factor affecting their food purchase decisions, according to new research findings.

A study conducted for Bord Bia revealed that the most important consideration for shoppers in selecting a food store to shop in is range of products on offer.

Seventy% of shoppers in the Republic, 68% in the North and 66% in Britain cited product range as the basis for selecting their preferred food store.
