British stocks down

BRITISH stocks dropped for a second day yesterday, let by BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto Group as copper prices fell.

AstraZeneca paced the decline after the European Patent Office rejected a patent covering the drugmaker’s best-selling ulcer medicine.

The FTSE lost 43.5 to 6,203.9.
