THE ISEQ index slipped 4.59 points into the red to end yesterday‘s session at 9,217.71, giving back some of last week’s gains.

Market leaders AIB and Bank of Ireland were down 20c and 18c to €22.50 and €17.16. Anglo-Irish and Irish Life and Permanent followed with 8c and 10c losses.

In construction, CRH added 45c to €30.50 to continue its strong recent performance. Kingspan also gained 14c after an announcement from the company that operating profits should grow by 33% percent this year. Grafton slipped 6c to €11.84.
