Christmas boost for food business

THE Irish farming and food industry is delivering value for money this Christmas by producing quality food.

Agri Aware chairman Máiréad Lavery said it is doing so under stringent environmental regulations, conforming to food safety standards while sustaining the rural economy.

“There are more than 250,000 people employed in the industry.

“When people enjoy their food this Christmas, they are supporting an industry which is making an immense contribution to the country’s economy,” Ms Lavery said.
