NCR Global Solutions’s Irish subsidiary profits up to €142m

THE Irish subsidiary of the US-owned technology company NCR Global Solutions recorded pre-tax profits of $186.3 million (€142.3m) for the year to the end of 2005, according to recently filed accounts.

The figure was up from $151.6m (€116m) reported in 2004. The company, which has its Irish office in the IFSC, saw its turnover here go from $1.17 billion in 2004 to $1.37 billion last year. Operating profit was also up, year-on-year, from $151m to $184m and gross profit made a yearly jump from $211.8m to $250.8m.

Royalty income, which is included in the turnover figure, came in at $34.1m, down from $36.3m in 2004 and $76m the previous year. Irish resident companies can gain generous tax breaks on royalty income and for certain R&D work.
