Market hits al-time high

RECENT buoyant international market conditions seemed to be the principal driver pushing the ISEQ index to a new all time high yesterday. The Dublin exchange hit 8,730.51 points at one stage, but closed up 89.54 at 8,720.40.

Stellar gains by the financials were significant to the market overall as AIB gained 60c to finish the session at €21.70. Bank of Ireland and Anglo-Irish also added 12c and 14c to end the day at €15.72 and €14.59. Irish life and Permanent lost 10c to €18.75.

Kingspan led the way of construction stocks gaining 30c to €16.60.
