FG seeks farm-to-farm trade support

FINE GAEL has urged Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan to financially support farm-to-farm trading to help reduce spiralling import costs.

Party spokesman Denis Naughten, TD, sought the support for grain handling, drying and storage facilities for farmers.

“With agricultural inflation running at 6% and farm input cost rising rapidly at 5% per annum, steps must be taken to encourage inter-farm trading,” he said.
