Market maintains upward trend

THE ISEQ Index remained in the black yesterday. The Dublin exchange increased 3.66 to 8,539.69.

Market maintains upward trend

The banking sector was 40.46 lower. AIB dropped 10c to €21.15. Bank of Ireland declined 5c to €15.50. Anglo was down 3c at €13.89. Irish Life and Permanent bucked the trend finishing up 22c at €19.17.

Elan was 12c lower at €11.98 following worse-than- expected third quarter results. CPL Resources jumped 50c to €5.40 after a positive AGM. Ryanair dipped 4c to €8.86 amid speculation that the proposed takeover of Aer Lingus may fail.
