THE umbrella body of Irish accountants, the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Body Ireland, has launched its pre-Budget submission.

It is seeking changes to tax rules to promote the use of bio-fuels and encourage investment in renewable energy projects.

It also wants the tax regime for research and development activities to be improved and for the Government to simplify the tax compliance rules for individuals and companies.
