Beef exports to EU up 23%

Beef sales to continental EU markets for the year are expected to reach 235,000 tonnes, showing an increase for the year of 23% as the exporters consolidate their position within the EU.

Bord Bia says that total exports to all European markets, including Britain, are forecast to rise 8% to reach almost 490,000 tonnes, compared to 450,000 tonnes last year. It means 93% of all exports from Ireland are now destined for EU markets.
