Market show moderate decline

The ISEQ index took a further tumble yesterday mirroring trends across Europe and the US The Dublin exchange closed 68.29 lower at 8,018.02.

The financials were mixed with AIB giving up 20c to €20.30 and Bank of Ireland adding 5c to €14.65. In the second line Anglo-Irish eased 5c to €12.55 while Irish Life & Permanent was 35c lower at €19.20.

In construction, sector leader CRH fell 65c to €26.80 as data released by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight show a slowdown in price appreciation across the US in the second quarter. Grafton Group and Kingspan also declined by 12c and 15c.
