SWS suffers second blow as deputy chief quits
Kieran Calnan, chief executive at SWS, also announced last Friday that he intends to retire from his post early in the New Year, having served the Bandon, Co Cork, based group in a variety of roles for 43 years.
However, he intends to stay until the latter part of next year to ensure continuity and a smooth transition.
SWS is now a leading diversified services and infrastructure group employing 400 people full time and 200 people contract and part time. It has key growth businesses in the energy, waste and business process outsourcing sectors.
Ms McHugh leaves SWS at the end of the month.
She has served on the board of Bord Iascaigh Mhara since 2004 and was recently appointed chairman. A qualified accountant with an MBA from UCC, she has been with the SWS Group for over five years in a number of positions.
SWS chairman Raymond Collins said Ms McHugh had played an important role in the success of the group and it wished her the very best in her new endeavours.
Ms Mc Hugh said she had enjoyed her time with the SWS Group and wished it all the best for the future.
She said she was delighted to be joining Merrion, a young and ambitious firm, and was looking forward to adding a strong new dimension to the group’s fast growing business.
The office she will manage will offer a full range of wealth management and corporate finance advisory services.
