Authority inquiry clears takeover

THE Competition Authority has cleared the takeover by the Tetra Laval Group of Carlisle Process Systems.

Both sides are involved in the manufacture and supply of limited-purpose equipment for liquid food; in particular, equipment used for the processing of cheese. The Authority undertook an inquiry to ensure that competition would not be weakened by the takeover.
