Financials keep market rising

THE ISEQ index continued its upward trend yesterday fuelled by a strong performance by the financials.

The exchange closed 57.47 points higher at 7726.97.

In the banking sector AIB gained 7c to €19.85 despite going ex-dividend today, while rival Bank of Ireland jumped 24c to €14.45. Anglo Irish added 10c to €11.60 and Irish Life & Permanent climbed 45c to €19.45.
